Elgro Potatoes Limited was registered on the 24th May 2001 and began its first season with fourteen grower shareholders, growing 50,000 tonnes of potatoes for the packing and processing sectors. Total production is now in excess of 50,000 tonnes produced within a radius of 20 miles of Boston in Lincolnshire, on some of the most fertile silts in the country. The rich silt soils allow the Elgro growers to specialise in the growing of Maris Piper, predominately for the supermarkets but also the processing sector.
The group is run by a small specialist team who have a wealth of experience within the potato industry and have accounts with the biggest customers in the business. Elgro Potatoes is widely known for its quality.
The quality of the potatoes we supply to our customers is one of the most important aspects of our business. It is therefore a very high priority that we consistently deliver what our customers expect from us, and wherever possible to exceed those expectations.
To achieve the high standards we set ourselves, attention to detail is paramount. From selecting the best fields for potato production on our dedicated farms to implementing rigorous quality control procedures at harvesting, storage and pre – loading.
